Newark Liberty International Airport keeps rental car pick-up simple. Excellent signage throughout the EWR makes it easy to navigate the area. The airport is wheel-chair and hearing-impaired accessible (ADA compliant). If you request assistance, for any reason, generous staff is available to help.

After arriving at your air carrier's gate, follow clearly marked signs to "Ground Transportation". As you near the Central Terminal (A, B, or C) you will find directions to "Car Rentals" and the AirTrain. Simply follow these signs, and you will quickly find yourself in a large AirTrain lobby, with plentiful signage. The train (free) is located on an upper level, reached via elevator or escalator.

Maps, located on the upper level, will direct you to the AirTrain that stops at your rental car destination. The trains arrive and depart every 3-4 minutes from 5 AM to midnight, except Sunday mornings when they begin the schedule at 7 AM. Should you have questions, or need assistance, friendly airport staff are on site. You'll find AirTrains provide generous room for your luggage. And, if you prefer walking, over riding an AirTrain (we can't imagine why), you may do that. AirTrain makes stops at all airline terminals and hotel shuttle areas.

Once you enter your train, you can relax. Audio and scrolling reader board announcements will keep you informed of your current location, and upcoming stops. Additionally, an on-board, easy-to-read map is located inside each train. While riding the AirTrain, be sure to watch for views of Manhattan.

When your car rental destination is announced (Station P2 for for Budget and Dollar and courtesy shuttle to off-site Enterprise, or Station P3 for Avis, Hertz and National), exit the train and take an escalator or elevator down one level. Your vehicle will be waiting. Enjoy your stay in the Newark area.

And, once you have completed your stay, car rental return is equally easy for exhausted Big Apple travelers. Simply return your vehicle, following your rental agency's instructions, board the AirTrain, and within minutes you will be through security, in the terminal, and waiting to board your plane.
